What Angel Step - Cad Step / Iges / Brep Importer & Exporter does
AngelSTEP closes the gap between CAD and Blender. It reads STEP and IGES data and converts it into watertight meshes with crisp normals, and it can also write STEP files back out, all inside a single self-contained add-on.
An analytic engine rebuilds rounds, fillets and bevels as tidy structured geometry and welds shared edges. Each part can be re-tessellated at a new resolution without importing again, and you can choose between adaptive render topology and even quad grids. A defeaturing panel strips holes, fillets and chamfers, while assembly tools and CAD-based UVs round out the toolkit.
