What ARRI Film Lab does
ARRI Film Lab applies analog film characteristics to digital footage in DaVinci Resolve, working in real time at 4K. It draws on ARRI's own color science and image processing to reproduce what film stocks and lab processes do to an image.
Grain comes in 50D, 200T and 500T profiles, and print and process emulation covers print stocks, reversal film and treatments such as bleach bypass. Halation adds a glow around highlights and edges, as light reflecting within film layers would, and gate weave introduces slight frame movement. Colorists and cinematographers who want a convincing photochemical finish will find these controls useful.
