Auto-Pause Viewport

Developer: Austin Berenyi

Download Free

Pauses Blender's viewport render when a final F12 render starts and resumes it afterward to reduce GPU load.

What Auto-Pause Viewport does

Auto-Pause Viewport solves a common slowdown in Cycles: running a rendered viewport while a final render is in progress. When you press F12, it pauses the viewport render automatically.

Once the final render completes or is canceled, the viewport render is restored. Cutting that parallel load reduces strain on the GPU and helps the final frame finish sooner. It works natively with the Cycles render engine and needs no manual steps.
