Bone and Vertex Group Merge
Developer: Tayou
Blender add-on that folds any number of chosen bones into the active bone while respecting meshes and vertex groups.
What Bone and Vertex Group Merge does
Bone and Vertex Group Merge by Tayou combines bones into one in Blender and carries mesh weights along.
Multiple bone chains can be merged at once, each individually by default, and an optional mode merges every chosen bone into the active one. Riggers simplifying skeletons for games or removing unneeded bones keep skinning intact. Merging both bones and their weights in one step avoids the manual process of transferring influences, which easily introduces skinning errors.
Key features
- Merge selected bones into the active bone
- Respects vertex groups
- Multiple chains at once
- Optional merge-all mode
