Captione Engine Lite
Developer: Dorian's lab
After Effects panel that imports SRT, WebVTT and TTML captions into a reusable single-layer subtitle rig.
What Captione Engine Lite does
Captione Engine Lite from Dorian's lab is a CEP panel that brings caption files into After Effects. It reads SRT, WebVTT and TTML and generates a subtitle rig controlled by one text layer and layer markers, so every caption is styled at once.
Re-importing a revised file updates timing and text while keeping your styling, which suits client revisions. Source files are cleaned of formatting tags, bracketed sound notes and stray whitespace. Timing snaps to frames with minimum durations and auto-trim for overlaps. Styling covers margins, offsets, box, padding, corner radius and opacity, and captions can be split into separate layers.
