Cyclops 3
Developer: Kyle Martinez
Renders behind-the-scenes views of After Effects work showing nulls, motion paths and bounding boxes.
What Cyclops 3 does
Cyclops 3 by Kyle Martinez produces breakdown renders that reveal what happens beneath an After Effects animation. Null layers, motion paths and bounding boxes of layers become visible, which makes for compelling process videos and case studies.
You can capture only the composition or the whole application window, and choose standard, wireframe, greenscreen or bluescreen output. The greenscreen and bluescreen options can simulate an alpha channel for compositing elsewhere. It runs on macOS, including Apple Silicon, and Windows, with After Effects CC 2019 through 2025. Animators who share their craft on social media or in portfolios will find it a handy showcase tool.
