What Fast Bokeh Pro does
Fast Bokeh Pro is a Rowbyte plug-in for After Effects that creates depth of field from a depth map. It is quick, independent of blur radius, and takes care with object edges.
Three bokeh modes are available: Gaussian, Spherical and Polygonal (high quality). A custom image can define the shape of the iris, Zone Control segments the scene, and GPU acceleration runs through Metal and Compute. Artists compositing 3D renders with depth passes, or faking camera focus on flat footage, can get smooth, photographic blur.
