Helix
Developer: mograph.tools
After Effects tool that generates helix paths with Cinema 4D style controls, smooth subdivisions and camera culling.
What Helix does
Helix brings spiral path creation to After Effects, using controls modeled on the helix tool in Cinema 4D. Motion designers who want coils, springs or spiral lines no longer have to draw them by hand or round-trip through a 3D application.
Subdivisions are added with smooth tangents so curves look clean, and camera culling keeps unwanted portions out of view when working with a camera. A set of extra controls sits within easy reach for quick adjustments while building the shape. It suits After Effects artists used to the Cinema 4D workflow who want a familiar way to generate and tweak helical paths in their compositions.
