img2cube
Developer: LongLiveTheCube
Solves camera focal length and rotation from a photo's parallel lines and places 3D snap points in Blender.
What img2cube does
img2cube is a free Blender extension for camera matching. Given a photograph, it recovers the perspective the picture was taken with, so 3D geometry can be built to line up with real buildings and rooms.
You draw lines along parallel edges in the image and press Solve. The tool estimates focal length, rotation and principal point from vanishing points, using either two points for speed or three for higher accuracy. A single known measurement sets real-world scale for the whole scene, and 3D snap points are placed to help you model on top of the photo.
Key features
- Camera solve from two or three vanishing points
- Estimates lens focal length, camera rotation and principal point
- Real-world scale from one known measurement
- Places 3D snap points for modeling over photos
