LinkForge
Developer: Arouna-Patouossa-Mounchili
Blender extension for modeling robots, validating physics and exporting simulation-ready URDF and XACRO.
What LinkForge does
LinkForge turns Blender into a robot description editor. You model a robot, check its physical integrity as you go, and export URDF or XACRO files for simulators.
A physical linter flags disconnected links, name collisions and impossible inertia before the model is sent to Gazebo or Isaac Sim. Inertia and center of mass are computed for primitives and arbitrary meshes. URDF can be imported, edited and exported again, and sensors such as camera, LiDAR, IMU and GPS are configurable. ROS 2 Control setup and XACRO macros are supported, including headless use for generating variants.
Key features
- Physical linter for links, names and inertia
- Inertia tensor and center of mass calculation
- URDF and XACRO import, edit and export
- Camera, LiDAR, IMU, GPS and other sensors
- ROS 2 Control configuration
