What LipsyncTool does
From Mikhail Ivanchuk comes LipsyncTool, a script for After Effects aimed at animating character speech. Instead of stepped holds, it produces smooth, interpolated mouth movement from keyframe presets that are triggered by timeline markers.
You build a preset layer containing your visemes, such as A, E, O and M, and tag each with markers. Applying that layer to your main artwork layer then places the keyframe sets wherever your markers fall, including range markers and multi-frame animations. No expressions are involved, which keeps comps light and editable. It supports After Effects from CC 2018 through 2025 and suits character animators.
