Mercury
Developer: Casey Baker
Applies free-form liquid deformation to shapes, solids, text and masks in After Effects.
What Mercury does
Mercury makes ordinary graphics behave like liquid. Shapes, solids, text and masks are converted into fluid-looking objects with blobby, flowing deformations, all within After Effects.
You can set how thick the liquid appears and how it evolves over time on each object. Version 1.4 added Apple Silicon M1 support and compatibility with macOS Catalina and newer. It runs on After Effects from CS6 through the 2022 release, which makes it an option for logo reveals, backgrounds and abstract motion design.
Key features
- Liquid deformation for shapes, solids, text and masks
- Adjustable liquid thickness
- Adjustable liquid evolution
- Apple Silicon support from version 1.4
- Works with After Effects CS6 to 2022
