Origin Align

Developer: Inlet

Download Free

Blender add-on that sets an object's origin on its base, top or any side and snaps it to surfaces of another mesh.

What Origin Align does

Moving an origin exactly where you want it is awkward in Blender. Inlet's Origin Align puts it on the base, the top or any face of a mesh and can lock it to another mesh's floor, ceiling or wall accurately.

Grid snapping goes to the nearest grid point, the origin may be centered first so it ends in the middle of the base, and you can align to a chosen face in Edit mode. A Smart Center variant analyses geometry on the chosen side. Set dressing and kitbashing become cleaner.

Key features

  • Origin on base, top or a chosen side
  • Snaps onto another mesh's floor, ceiling or wall
  • Grid snapping option
  • Center origin before aligning
  • Align to a selected face in Edit mode
