quadrateFX
Developer: Real Creations
Creates treemap-style random patterns of tiled vector rectangles in After Effects, optionally driven by a custom layer.
What quadrateFX does
quadrateFX is Real Creations's plugin for After Effects that fills the frame with nested rectangles in the manner of treemapping, the data-visualization method. A recent update lets a custom layer drive how the quads are split and sampled.
Settings include X+Y grid, sampling radius, split randomness, exaggerate and luminance, with sampling taken from either luminance or RGB values of the chosen layer. It can create 3D quads and generate a solid layer. It works with After Effects CC 2014 through 2024.
