RectControl
Developer: Adam Sacks
After Effects extension for controlling rectangles, aimed at UI and SaaS product animation.
What RectControl does
RectControl simplifies the way rectangles are built and animated in After Effects, especially for interface and software marketing videos. It brings alignment, corner treatment and attached elements under a single set of controls.
Corners can be rounded together or individually, curved convex or concave, or made into squircles for Apple-style panels. Elements and gradient start and end points can be pinned dynamically inside or outside the rectangle. Animation happens through Effect Controls, so projects open for animators without the extension. You can also adjust anchor points without moving layers, add nulls, save presets and replace ordinary or Figma rectangles.
Key features
- Alignment, linked or separate corner radius, concave corners
- Squircle option
- Dynamic pinning of elements and gradients
