What Scatter Objects does
Scatter Objects places copies of an object over another object's surface in Blender. Originally written by Jacques Lucke, it was part of Blender 4.1's bundled add-ons and is now a community extension with limited support.
It runs from the 3D View, needs no special permissions, and works with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer under the GPL v2 or later. Artists populating terrain with rocks, trees or debris can spread instances without building a particle or geometry-node setup.
