SceneShutter
Developer: cmjohncheng
3ds Max tool that saves safe-frame viewport screenshots from many cameras, with text overlays, instead of rendering.
What SceneShutter does
SceneShutter takes previews from many cameras in 3ds Max without rendering. It captures real-time viewport screenshots, cropped to the safe frame, so aspect ratios are right and no cropping is needed in post. The developer says this is ten times faster than batch rendering.
Cameras of the Free, Target, V-Ray Physical and Corona kinds all work. Each preview can carry overlay text such as camera name, lens, aspect ratio, time and user. Flexible aspect ratios are supported through V-Ray's resolution override or the Camera Resolution Mod. A simple UI chooses the output folder and cameras and adjusts overlays. Ideal for client reviews, storyboards and lighting studies.
