What Smart Selector does
Smart Selector lets you click on what you see in the composition to pick the layer behind it, rather than hunting for it in the timeline. It finds the right layer even when bounding boxes, adjustment layers, precomps or transparent areas are in the way.
A selection algorithm identifies whatever lies under the cursor, and the help panel handles license activation, deactivation and trial mode. It works with After Effects from CS3 through 2026, and is useful for anyone working in busy compositions.
