What Snowflake does
Snowflake is a Blender add-on that creates detailed snowflake models based on a physically-based growth model, so the forms look convincing up close. Parameters can be tuned by hand or randomized automatically to yield an endless supply of variations.
Many presets are included for quick starts, and the entire growth process can be saved as an animation, showing a flake forming step by step. It supports Blender 3.6 up to 5.0. It is a good fit for winter scenes, holiday graphics and macro-style renders that need believable crystals.
