SoftViz Pro
Developer: Niels-Couvreur
Blender GPU overlay that paints a per-vertex heatmap of Proportional Editing influence directly on the mesh surface.
What SoftViz Pro does
SoftViz Pro replaces Blender's flat 2D proportional editing circle with a heatmap drawn on the geometry itself, so you can see which vertices will move and by how much. It is drawn on the GPU through Blender's gpu module, keeping dense meshes responsive.
With Connected off it measures straight-line distance for a ball-shaped falloff; with it on, a Dijkstra pathfinding approach follows topological distance and stops at gaps and separate mesh parts. Dot size scales in world or screen space, an X-Ray depth toggle hides points behind faces, and weights are cached until selection or radius changes.
Key features
- Per-vertex influence heatmap on geometry
- Euclidean and geodesic distance modes
- GPU-accelerated drawing for high-poly meshes
- World or screen space dot scaling
- Cached weights recalculated only when needed
