Spline Caster
Developer: JokerMartini
3ds Max plugin for drawing splines and cables projected onto scene geometry, by two clicks or freehand.
What Spline Caster does
Spline Caster draws splines directly onto the surface of any geometry in a 3ds Max scene, with realtime previewing as you work. You can draw in two ways: placing a spline with two clicks, or sketching freehand using a lazy-mouse smoothing.
In the two-click mode, a cable is created with an automatically calculated curve, and dragging the cursor left or right changes how curvy it is. Freehand drawing works across all visible geometry and lines continue automatically. Artists creating cables, wires, trims or decorative paths on complex surfaces can place them quickly. It requires 3ds Max 2017 or newer.
