SVG2AE
Developer: GothLab
Imports SVG files into After Effects compositions as editable shape layers, including several files at once.
What SVG2AE does
SVG2AE is a small tool from GothLab that brings vector artwork into After Effects as native shape layers. Instead of converting SVGs through Illustrator or tracing them manually, you point it at the file and it builds the layers directly in the active comp.
Version 2.0 introduced multiple-file import with a click-to-select option and refreshed the interface, while version 1.1 fixed certain SVGs that previously failed to convert. It works with releases from After Effects CS3 up to the 2026 version. Designers and animators who rely on logos, icons and illustrations from vector editors can move them into a composition without detours.
