Symple (symmetry groups)
Developer: Martín-Torres-Valverde
Blender add-on that adds objects with discrete spherical symmetry such as dihedral, cyclic and icosahedral groups.
What Symple (symmetry groups) does
Symple adds symmetric constructions to Blender from the Shift+A menu in Object Mode. Choose a discrete spherical symmetry group, including dihedral, cyclic, tetrahedral, octahedral or icosahedral, and get a mesh tile of the fundamental domain or a set of axes.
Created objects sit under an empty labeled with the group signature and share their data, varying only by location, rotation and scale. Lock transforms keeps the symmetry intact. Signatures use Orbifold notation, with presets for newcomers, and symmetry can be built from another object's data, such as curves or bones.
Key features
- Dihedral, cyclic and polyhedral symmetry groups
- Mesh tile or group of axes
- Parented under a signature-named empty
- Lock transforms to preserve symmetry
- Build groups from curves, bones and other objects
