What TextBox 2 does
TextBox 2 is a native After Effects plugin that places a shape behind text and keeps it sized as the words change. It applies directly to the text layer, with none of the usual parenting, mattes or expressions. That makes it practical for lower thirds, subtitles, captions and text-in and text-out animation.
Shapes can be auto, square, circle or polygon. Expansion can be set per side, including negative values, with individual corner rounding. The box can be transformed independently, with gradients, borders, dashes and Trim Paths. Vertical, horizontal and paragraph text work, along with motion blur and 8, 16 and 32 bpc.
