Box It
Developer: Motion Embassy
After Effects script that creates self-resizing text boxes and brackets with corner profiles and alignment options.
What Box It does
Box It, from Motion Embassy, adds a shape box beneath a text layer in After Effects and keeps it fitted as the text changes. It handles paragraph text, vertical text and 3D layers, which is useful for lower thirds and captions.
Corners have four profiles: convex, concave, flat and step, with adjustable curvature for squircles and radius in pixels or percent. Corner brackets can also fit the bounding box with their own length and tapering. Boxes align to the comp or a parent layer, offsets are percentage-based so animations adapt, and you can trim to a square, set minimums, or match another layer.
