Cablerator
Developer: Sergey Kritskiy
Blender add-on for creating hanging cables from geometry, edges or curves and simulating them with physics.
What Cablerator does
Cablerator builds hanging cables and wires in Blender. They can be started by clicking on geometry, drawing on surfaces or planes, deriving them from edges, or hanging them from objects.
Cables can also run between curve points or follow meshes, and many can be generated between selected faces. Blender physics simulates their sag, insulation can be added between cables or objects, and simple rope-like structures are possible. Width and profile for several cables can be edited together. Sci-fi, industrial and environment artists use it to fill scenes with believable wiring.
Key features
- Multiple ways to create cables
- Mass generation between selected faces
- Physics simulation of hanging cables
- Insulation and rope structures
- Batch editing of width and profile
