Chromabba
Developer: Towards Inner Momentum
A chromatic aberration effect that models light bending at edges and can also produce liquid glass distortion.
What Chromabba does
Chromabba tackles chromatic aberration differently from a plain RGB channel offset. It simulates how light bends around edges, giving fringing that behaves more like a real optical effect. It runs in After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro, plus Nuke and other OFX hosts.
You control strength, direction and edge attraction, and the Direction setting offers Both, Inward and Outward modes. The same engine can generate a liquid glass distortion look. Rendering uses WebGPU, and if a frame exceeds GPU limits the plugin shows a warning on the image instead of crashing the host.
Key features
- Edge-aware light bending, not just channel shifts
- Strength, direction and edge attraction controls
- Both, Inward and Outward direction modes
- Liquid glass distortion effect
- WebGPU acceleration with an on-frame size warning
