What Decal On The Shell does
Decal On The Shell adds surface detail to Blender models using real geometry-based decals rather than image textures. More than fifty decals are included, and because it needs no textures or normal maps, details stay crisp on meshes that use the Subdivision Surface modifier.
You can store your own decal sets as blend files in the Decals_Sets folder, and tools prepare decals through vertex weights and modifiers. Documentation, a Discord server and a BlenderArtists thread are available for support. It requires Blender 3.2 or later and suits hard-surface artists adding panel lines and markings to subdivided models.
