Faux Parent
Developer: Freshmograph
Script that sets how strongly a parent layer influences its child in After Effects, with batch delay and influence.
What Faux Parent does
Faux Parent is a Freshmograph script that loosens standard parenting in After Effects. Rather than a child inheriting everything from its parent, you decide how much control the parent has.
Batch Parenting sets the parenting type as Faux Parent is applied to several layers, while Batch Delay and Batch Influence work in Random and Sequential modes for offset results. A rewritten sync engine delivered a significant speed increase in version 1.4. It works with After Effects running in non-English languages and supports CC 2019 through 2026.
Key features
- Adjustable parent influence on children
- Batch Parenting
- Batch Delay and Influence, random or sequential
- Faster sync engine since 1.4
