Fractal Noise 3D
Developer: CROSSPHERE .Koizumi
GPU volumetric noise for After Effects that creates real 3D clouds, fog and atmosphere lit by AE lights.
What Fractal Noise 3D does
Fractal Noise 3D builds a genuine three-dimensional noise volume in After Effects, rather than faking depth on a flat layer. Your composition camera can travel through it, which makes it a good fit for clouds, fog and atmospheric haze.
After Effects point, spot, directional and ambient lights illuminate the volume. Geometry types include box, sphere and cylinder, and Domain Warp in Version 2 twists and swirls the sampling. Obstacle Layers let any 3D layer cast shadows or let light through for backlit translucency and god rays, and depth maps from other 3D tools can be composited. GPU acceleration runs on Metal, CUDA and OpenCL, with Multi-Frame Rendering and 8, 16 and 32 bpc.
