What Frischluft Lenscare AE does
Lenscare adds camera-style focus effects as a 2D post-process in After Effects and Premiere Pro. Its physically based algorithms blur each pixel by how far away it sits, giving believable focus falloff on 3D renders or footage with a depth pass.
The Depth of Field effect reads a depth buffer, while Out of Focus is a faster constant-radius blur that accepts a custom-drawn lens shape and handles background distortion for semi-transparent areas. Aperture settings imitate different cameras, which shows most in highlights, and a brightness boost keeps bright regions from dulling. Focus can be checked without a full scene re-render. Multi-Frame Rendering and Apple Silicon are supported.
