FumeFX to VrayVolumeGrid miniscript
Developer: DavidAviles
3ds Max script that turns simulated FumeFX grids into aligned, renamed VrayVolumeGrids loading the same caches.
What FumeFX to VrayVolumeGrid miniscript does
This miniscript creates VrayVolumeGrid objects from two or more FumeFX grids that have already been simulated. Every new grid is lined up with its FumeFX counterpart, given a matching name, and pointed at the cache files of the master FumeFX grids.
There is no interface, macro or button: select the FumeFX grids and execute the script. It is intended for artists rendering compatible VDB FumeFX caches in V-Ray, and it requires 3ds Max 2016 or newer. It takes away the tedious manual creation and alignment of volume grids for each simulation.
Key features
