Projects selected objects onto a surface or conforms splines to it in 3ds Max, with axis and orientation options.

What Glue does

Glue is a utility plugin that does two jobs in 3ds Max: it projects a group of separate objects onto a geometric surface, and it conforms splines to a surface. Projection can run along the X, Y or Z axis.

Objects may rotate to follow the surface normal or keep their current rotation. Splines can be normalized using a fixed number of steps or vertices added by length, with the choice to retain existing knots. It works with the built-in Path Deform modifier, and combining Clone Modifier with Path Deform produces parametric arrays that conform to surfaces, helpful for laying out props, trims or fences on uneven ground.

Key features

  • Projects objects onto any surface
  • Conforms splines to a surface
  • Projection along X, Y or Z
  • Optional follow of surface normal
  • Works with Path Deform
