Blender toolkit for 3D ink painting with brushstrokes, outlines, procedural ink textures, shadows and a rice paper backdrop.

What Inktool does

Inktool brings an East Asian ink painting look to Blender. Inkbrush applies 3D brushstrokes, Inkedge draws ink outlines around any model, Inktexture turns existing textures into procedural ink textures, and Inkshadow makes objects receive ink-style shadows.

A one-click rice paper background adds an aged feel, and a continually updated ink model library comes with a freely adjustable generator. It suits non-photorealistic rendering and Chinese watercolor styles. Documentation is included.

Key features

  • Inkbrush for 3D brushstrokes
