Lace Maker
Developer: JokerMartini
Procedural shoelace generator for 3ds Max that builds complete lacing from a grid mesh strip with nine patterns and tied or untied ends.
What Lace Maker does
Lace Maker turns a single grid mesh strip on a shoe into a full lacing assembly in 3ds Max, including eyestays, eyelets, lace paths, geometry, aglets and the ends. Everything regenerates non-destructively from the original strip, with a real-time preview.
Nine lacing patterns can be switched instantly, from criss-cross to train track. Holes, hooks, rings and loops can all appear on one shoe as eyelets, with offset, rotation and scale controls for each and custom mesh support. Ends can droop untied or form a tied knot with loops, with random variation per side. Lace cross-sections can be rectangular, circular or custom, and paths conform to the surface with tension settings.
