Lattice Auto Weighting
Developer: Beyond Studios
Blender add-on that automatically weights lattice points to nearby bones so lattices can be deformed by an armature.
What Lattice Auto Weighting does
Lattice Auto Weighting fills a gap in vanilla Blender, which cannot auto-weight lattices. Beyond Studios' add-on computes each lattice point's weight from how far it sits from the bones, giving smooth deformation when the rig moves.
You can cap the number of bone influences per point, adjust falloff and set how many heat diffuse loops run. For complex lattices, a voxelization option offers a faster alternative to traditional heat diffusion. Riggers who use lattices to drive cloth-like or soft shapes can skip painting those weights manually.
Key features
- Distance-based automatic weights for lattice points
- Limit on bone influences per point
- Adjustable falloff and heat diffuse loops
- Voxelization option for complex lattices
- Works with armature-driven rigs
