Layer Repeater
Developer: Adam Katz
Duplicates a layer into many copies in After Effects and offsets them in space and time from a control null.
What Layer Repeater does
Layer Repeater by Adam Katz is an After Effects script for generating repeating layer arrays. Select a layer, say how many copies you need, and it builds them all, optionally with 3D properties turned on.
The selected layer is replaced with a composition, and a new null carries the controls that influence every duplicate. Copies can be offset in time, and a checkbox reverses the stacking order. It opens from the Window menu. Motion designers making echoes, trails, cascades or staggered repeats can adjust everything from one place.
Key features
- Duplicate a layer into a chosen number of copies
- Optional 3D properties on duplicates
- Control null affects all copies
- Time offset between copies
- Reverse stacking order option
