Lens Sim
Developer: Håvard Dalen
Blender add-on that simulates real lenses in Cycles using optical data, with bokeh, aberration and breathing.
What Lens Sim does
Lens Sim builds on Blender's camera so renders look as though real glass produced them. Dozens of lenses modeled from real-world optical data can be chosen and rendered in Cycles.
It reproduces chromatic aberration, vignetting, distortion, softness, focus breathing and natural bokeh shapes by simulating glass and the aperture opening. Lenses range from wide-angle to telephoto, each with its own bokeh and distortion profile, based on patent data. One click converts an ordinary Blender camera so it uses these lens models. VFX and photorealistic renders benefit.
