What Matcaps Forever - Infinite Matcap Generator does
Matcaps Forever creates material capture textures in Blender by randomizing lights and materials until something looks right. Dozens of candidates can appear in seconds, and when one appeals you can adjust it and export it.
Lighting is customizable, with adjustable strength, color and type for key, fill and back lights, and an optional ground plane with a checker texture is available. Everything from generation to final render is controlled within Blender, and renders export as EXR or PNG to a chosen path for use in other software that supports matcaps. Sculptors and lookdev artists wanting new viewport shading options will enjoy it.
