Matcaps
Developer: JokerMartini
3ds Max tool that gives the viewport ZBrush and Mudbox style matcap shading using a temporary shader override.
What Matcaps does
Matcaps reproduces the material-capture shading seen in modeling applications like ZBrush and Mudbox inside the 3ds Max viewport. It works as a temporary shader override, so your original shaders and models are left unchanged.
It includes 35 matcaps, and further ones, such as downloaded sets, can be dropped into the Matcaps textures folder. Sculptors and modelers get a clearer read on form and surface detail than default viewport shading offers. It supports 3ds Max 2017 or newer.
