Mesh Project
Developer: Chuggnut
3ds Max script that projects one mesh's vertices onto another mesh surface along the first mesh's vertex normals.
What Mesh Project does
Mesh Project pushes the points of a mesh along their normals until they land on a second mesh's surface. Each vertex travels along its own normal on the first object until it meets the target, so the first mesh takes on the shape of the surface.
First choose what to project; then click what it should land on. It runs as a single-button operation. This is useful for wrapping decals, patches or meshes onto curved forms, or for conforming a low-poly shape to a detailed one. The current version is 2.3.5, written by Chuggnut.
