Nebulosity
Developer: irrealix
GPU volumetric plugin for After Effects that renders nebulas, galaxies, clouds and smoke with raymarching.
What Nebulosity does
Nebulosity by irrealix generates volumetric space clouds and smoke inside After Effects. Density is visualised with a GPU raymarching algorithm, then coloured through several techniques.
The base shape can be a box or sphere, or custom layers in Cut or Extrude mode. Density is built from up to three noise layers using Volume, Spiral and Inverted FBM scattering, each animated through an Evolution slider, and can be mixed with layers acting as masks and ramps. Emission colour comes from a solid colour, a layer or a gradient distributed by density, radially or by noise. Feather Ramp smooths the volume edges. Space and atmosphere artists get soft, deep forms.
Key features
