Node Preview
Developer: Simon Wendsche
Blender add-on that shows rendered thumbnails above shader nodes in Cycles and Eevee.
What Node Preview does
Node Preview adds a small rendered image above each shader node, so you can see what every step of a material produces without wiring outputs temporarily. It works with Cycles and Eevee shaders.
Previews update automatically when edits affect them, and rendering takes place in a background process so the interface stays responsive. The scene file is not altered, meaning colleagues without the add-on can still open it. High-resolution displays are supported. Material and shader artists debugging complex node trees will find problems faster.
Key features
- Thumbnail above each shader node
- Automatic updates after edits
- Background rendering keeps UI responsive
- Does not modify the .blend file
