One Click Normal Map Generator
Developer: Blender Procedural
A Blender add-on that turns a grayscale image into a normal map in one click, in DirectX or OpenGL format.
What One Click Normal Map Generator does
One Click Normal Map Generator converts images into normal maps inside Blender. Starting from an imported grayscale image, it detects edges using Sobel and diagonal filters, then writes the result, saving a trip to an external texture program.
Radius, which blurs edges to simulate slopes, and strength are adjustable. Output can follow DirectX (Y+) or OpenGL (Y-) conventions, with Invert Mask and Disable Blurring options. The result is saved beside the source image with a _normal suffix, and the interface refreshes with preview thumbnails. Texture and game artists needing quick detail maps will find it handy.
