Paint Link
Developer: a + a plugins
Links After Effects and Photoshop for frame-by-frame animation drawn in Photoshop.
What Paint Link does
Paint Link, from a + a plugins, creates a live connection between After Effects and Photoshop so hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation can flow between the two. You paint in Photoshop while the results appear in your After Effects composition.
The link relies on Photoshop's remote connections. A VFX mode checkbox arrived in version 1.0.8, and the plugin supports After Effects 2022 through 2026 with Photoshop 2022 through 2025. It also detects some incomplete or incorrect installations and explains how to fix them, helping animators get running without guesswork.
