Parent To Nearest Bone
Developer: Blender.Fun
A Blender add-on that parents objects to the closest bone in one click, with Bone or Armature deform modes.
What Parent To Nearest Bone does
Parent To Nearest Bone attaches objects to the right bone on a rig without manual picking. One click finds the closest bone and parents the object to it, which is useful for accessories, armor and props attached to characters.
Two parent modes are offered: Bone, or Armature deform with automatic weights. The function lives in the armature properties panel, includes a Check armature feature that resets colors when assigning in Armature deform mode, and gives usage hints for problems such as an empty collection field or unsupported objects like lights. It supports the Blender Extension format. Riggers and animators dressing characters will save steps.
