PathLink
Developer: Maher Wali
Two-way bridge that moves Illustrator vectors, text and gradients into After Effects shapes and back again.
What PathLink does
PathLink by Maher Wali moves artwork between Illustrator and After Effects. Vectors from Illustrator arrive as editable After Effects shapes, so they can be refined and animated without redrawing, and paths can also be sent back to Illustrator for adjustment.
The transfer keeps nested groups and clipping masks intact, supports text on a path, and carries over drop shadow, Gaussian blur and feather effects. Gradients and text work on the return trip. Artwork can go to several open compositions, and new layers begin at the current time indicator.
Key features
- Illustrator vectors become editable AE shapes
- Bidirectional transfer with gradient and text support
- Preserves groups and clipping masks
- Carries drop shadow, blur and feather effects
