PolyZamboni
Developer: Anton-Florey
Blender add-on that unfolds meshes into papercraft with cuts, glue flaps and color-coded edges.
What PolyZamboni does
PolyZamboni is a Blender add-on by Anton-Florey for turning a mesh into a papercraft model. It manages the cuts, glue flaps and edge markings you need to unfold a 3D shape into paper pieces, and can carry face materials over to the printed instructions.
Separate Materials adds cuts wherever neighboring faces have different materials, and Remove Auto Cuts clears automatic cuts if you dislike them. Alt+X brings up a pie menu for adding, removing and flipping flaps on the selected edges. Edges are colored red for manual cuts, green for manual glue and blue for automatic cuts, and areas shaded red cannot be unfolded.
Key features
- Automatic and manual cuts for unfolding
- Glue flap pie menu on Alt+X
- Color-coded edges for cuts and glue
- Flags regions that cannot be unfolded
- Transfers face materials to the instructions
