Fast Bokeh Pro from Rowbyte simulates depth of field in After Effects by reading a depth map. Its blur is radius independent, so cost depends on image size rather than how strong the blur is, keeping renders close to constant.
Edge handling reduces hard borders and halos, though occluded areas have limits. You can choose a faster Gaussian aperture or a higher-quality Spherical one, set focus by distance or by clicking a point, invert the map, and add an intensity boost for large radii and transparent images. 32-bit colour is recommended. Version 2 adds custom bokeh shapes, Zone Control and Metal/Compute GPU acceleration.
