Save Selection
Developer: Blenderbob
Blender add-on that exports the selected objects to a new .blend file from the File menu.
What Save Selection does
Save Selection, by Blenderbob, adds a simple export option to Blender. Under File, Export you will find a Save Selection (.blend) entry that writes only the objects you have selected into their own blend file.
It is a tiny add-on, about 3.6 KB and written entirely in Python, with no special permissions needed. It works with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer and is released under GPL v3 or later, which makes it a convenient way to split parts of a scene out for reuse.
